I am so excited to announce a special event on this Thirsty Thursday!
2020 has certainly challenged us thus far, and as of late, I have found myself wondering what can I do, specifically, what can I do to help the Black Lives Matter movement? It's hard to describe the emotions I have felt lately, and I cannot even imagine, nor will I ever fully be able to, what the world has been like for a black man, woman, or child. To say they deserve better is an understatement.
I have spent the past two weeks or so really trying to listen, better educate myself, signing petitions and sharing black stories and black owned businesses in the field; however, I wanted to do more.
Yoga has always been my love language and a way for me to connect with others that I otherwise might not have. I have and will always welcome everyone into my yoga room - you are my family the moment you step into a class with me - and I love that no matter where you come from, your gender, age, religion, sexuality, or your race, yoga has been and is a way of bringing us together. That is why when I began working on putting together an event with Common Space Brewery, I knew another - even if it is only small - way to help.
On June 20th, I will be leading an hour yoga class via Zoom, in partnership with Common Space Brewery. They will be delivering beer and a common space pint glass right to your door! And you know what the best part is? 100% of the profits are going to be donated to The Loveland Foundation. This foundation was established by Rachel Cargle (learn more about this badass woman here), and it provides support and mental health services for black women and girls. What is even better, is if you do not live in California, you can still participate! All you have to do is donate any amount to The Loveland Foundation, and then email your receipt to hi@commonspace.la, and they will add you to the class!
Let's all come together to do what we can. You can see all of the details and purchase your tickets HERE.
Thank you so much, Yogi's!
